A Plastic Ocean

The 2016 documentary film directed by Craig Leeson explores the issue of plastic pollution in the world's oceans. Initially intending to film blue whales, Leeson discovered vast amounts of plastic waste in the ocean off the coast of Sri Lanka. This led him, along with free-diving champion Tanya Streeter and an international team of scientists and researchers, to embark on a four-year journey across 20 regions worldwide to investigate the extent of plastic pollution and its impact on marine ecosystems and human health.
