Animal Farm

A British political satire novel from 1945 by George Orwell, Animal Farm is an allegory of totalitarian regimes and the nature of power. The story is set on a farm where animals, led by the pig Old Major, revolt against humans to establish a society based on equality. However, after his death, leadership falls to the pigs Napoleon and Snowball, whose rivalry intensifies. Over time, the revolutionary ideals are abandoned, and Napoleon becomes a dictator, indistinguishable from the former rulers. The novel explores themes of power corruption, manipulation, suppression of freedom, and the cyclical nature of history, remaining one of the most significant works of political literature in the 20th century.
