An American crime drama television series that aired from September 22, 1976, to June 24, 1981, on ABC. The story revolves around three female detectives—Sabrina Duncan (Kate Jackson), Jill Munroe (Farrah Fawcett), and Kelly Garrett (Jaclyn Smith)—working for the Charles Townsend Agency in Los Angeles. Their boss, Charles "Charlie" Townsend (voiced by John Forsythe), remains unseen throughout the series, communicating with them via speakerphone and assigning various missions. Assisting them in their investigations is John Bosley (David Doyle), the only employee with direct contact with Charlie. Over the course of the series, the lineup of "Angels" changed: after Jill Munroe's departure, her younger sister Kris Munroe (Cheryl Ladd) joined the team; Sabrina Duncan was later replaced by Tiffany Welles (Shelley Hack), who was subsequently succeeded by Julie Rogers (Tanya Roberts). Each episode features a standalone investigation where the Angels employ their disguises, combat skills, and intelligence to solve crimes. The series gained popularity for its blend of action, drama, and the allure of its leading ladies, becoming a symbol of 1970s pop culture. Despite mixed critical reviews, "Charlie's Angels" achieved high ratings in its initial seasons and continues to be a cult classic, inspiring several remakes and films.
