Crowfall

An MMORPG with strategic gameplay elements, developed by ArtCraft Entertainment, Crowfall introduces a unique "time-limited campaign" system where worlds are created, evolve, and eventually collapse. Players take on the role of Crows—immortal beings that can inhabit different bodies and embark on new conquests. The combat system focuses on real-time action with aimed attacks, while character progression includes customizable classes, races, and abilities. The game’s economy is heavily player-driven, relying on crafting and trade, while its political system enables guild formations, alliances, and territorial control battles. The defining feature of Crowfall is its temporary worlds, which exist for a limited duration: players build fortresses, wage wars, and vie for dominance until the world decays, leading to the start of a new campaign with different conditions. This structure blends MMO, strategy, and sandbox elements, where every decision impacts the course of the game. Despite its innovative concept, Crowfall struggled with player retention and was ultimately shut down in 2022.
