A 2D side-scrolling platformer with shooter elements, developed by NuclearVision with support from Valve, serving as a spin-off in the Half-Life universe. The game features a side-scrolling 2D perspective, putting players in the role of Gordon Freeman in an alternate storyline of the series. The gameplay combines shooting, simple puzzle-solving, and object interactions using the iconic crowbar and gravity-based weaponry. Familiar enemies like headcrabs and Combine soldiers appear, along with various levels featuring different environments. Originally intended as a promotional game ahead of Half-Life 2’s release, Codename Gordon eventually became a standalone experience. It was distributed for free on Steam but was later removed from the store and is no longer officially available for download.
