Kenshi

An open-world role-playing game developed by the independent studio Lo-Fi Games, Kenshi offers a unique and entirely non-linear gameplay experience in a harsh post-apocalyptic world inspired by feudal Japan and desolate wastelands. Unlike traditional RPGs, Kenshi has no predefined storyline or character classes—players are free to forge their own destiny, starting as a weak wanderer, a slave, a merchant, a mercenary, or even an aspiring warlord. The massive seamless world is filled with dangers: ruthless bandits, starving mutants, warring factions, and an unforgiving environment make survival a challenging yet rewarding experience. Progression is not tied to levels but is instead skill-based—characters improve naturally by performing relevant actions. Players can build bases, control entire squads, explore ancient ruins, or engage in large-scale battles.
