Killers of the Flower Moon

A 2023 American epic crime drama western film directed by Martin Scorsese. The plot is based on David Grann's book "Killers of the Flower Moon: Oil, Money, Murder and the Birth of the FBI" and depicts a series of murders in Osage County during the 1920s. After oil is discovered on Osage land, the Native American tribe members become targets for criminals aiming to seize their wealth. The main roles are played by Leonardo DiCaprio (Ernest Burkhart), Robert De Niro (William Hale), and Lily Gladstone (Mollie Burkhart). The film explores themes of greed, betrayal, and the systemic oppression of indigenous peoples. It premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 20, 2023.
