Olive Kitteridge​

The 2014 American drama miniseries, directed by Lisa Cholodenko and written by Jane Anderson, is an adaptation of Elizabeth Strout's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. The story spans 25 years in the life of Olive Kitteridge (Frances McDormand), a stern and perceptive math teacher in a small Maine town. Her marriage to the kind-hearted pharmacist Henry (Richard Jenkins) is tested by her abrasive demeanor and emotional detachment. Their son Christopher (John Gallagher Jr.) struggles with the lack of maternal warmth, affecting his adult life. The series also features Zoe Kazan as Denise Thibodeau, a young pharmacy employee, and Bill Murray as Jack Kennison, a widower who forms a connection with Olive.
