The 2018 thriller directed by Timur Bekmambetov follows British journalist Amy (Valene Kane), who, facing financial difficulties, decides to investigate the recruitment of women into the terrorist organization ISIS. Utilizing screen-casting technology, the entire film is presented through her computer screen. Amy creates a fake Facebook profile under the name Melody Nelson, portraying a recent convert to Islam, and begins communicating with ISIS recruiter Abu Bilel (Shazad Latif). Their interaction gradually transitions from text messages to Skype video calls, where Abu Bilel describes life in Syria and invites Melody to join him. Simultaneously, Amy deals with personal issues: her boyfriend Matt (Morgan Watkins) tries to discuss moving in together, and her friend Kathy (Emma Cater) seeks advice on choosing a dress. Amy becomes increasingly immersed in the role of Melody, experiencing an internal conflict between her professional duty and growing sympathy for Abu Bilel. Tension escalates when Abu Bilel proposes marriage to Melody and suggests she move to Syria. The film explores themes of manipulation, identity, and the dangers of online communication. It premiered on February 17, 2018, at the Berlin Film Festival, where it received the Audience Award in the "Panorama" program.
