Red Lights

A 2012 psychological supernatural thriller directed by Spanish filmmaker Rodrigo Cortés. The film follows psychology professor Margaret Matheson (Sigourney Weaver) and her assistant, physicist Tom Buckley (Cillian Murphy), who specialize in debunking paranormal phenomena. They attend a séance and expose the tricks of fraudulent psychics. Meanwhile, renowned blind psychic Simon Silver (Robert De Niro) announces his return to the stage after a thirty-year hiatus, following the mysterious death of his main critic. Buckley suggests investigating Silver's activities, but Matheson refuses, considering him dangerous. Despite her warnings, Buckley initiates his own investigation, encountering unexplainable events and questioning his beliefs. The film explores the boundaries between science and faith, reality and illusion, prompting the audience to ponder the nature of perception and deception.
