Son of the Mask

A 2005 American comedy film directed by Lawrence Guterman, serving as a sequel to the 1994 movie "The Mask," but featuring a new story and characters. The plot follows aspiring cartoonist Tim Avery (Jamie Kennedy), who accidentally discovers the legendary Mask of Loki and wears it at a party, gaining incredible powers. Later, his wife Tonya (Traylor Howard) gives birth to their son, Alvey, who inherits the mask's supernatural abilities, turning their household into complete chaos. Meanwhile, the Norse god Loki (Alan Cumming) descends to Earth to retrieve his lost mask, leading to a series of outrageous and comedic events. Unlike the original, this sequel leans into family comedy and heavy CGI effects, but it failed to impress critics and audiences, becoming one of the most infamous follow-ups in cinematic history.
