A Japanese video game released in 2014, developed by Project Soul and published by Bandai Namco Games exclusively for mobile devices on iOS. Unlike the traditional SoulCalibur entries, this game was a card-based fighting game with turn-based combat mechanics. Players collected cards featuring different characters and weapons, using them in battles throughout the story mode. The plot revolved around a new protagonist who had to fight against dark forces and restore balance between the legendary swords Soul Edge and SoulCalibur. The gameplay focused on strategic card combinations that determined attacks and defensive moves during fights. While the visual style retained the franchise’s signature aesthetic, the game’s mechanics were more casual-oriented. Despite an interesting concept, SoulCalibur: Unbreakable Soul received mixed reviews due to its repetitive gameplay and reliance on microtransactions. Shortly after launch, the game was discontinued, with its servers shutting down in 2015.
