Sword of Destiny

A 1992 fantasy short story collection, the second chronologically in The Witcher series. The book further develops the world of Geralt of Rivia, his relationships, and the concept of destiny, particularly concerning the young princess Ciri, who is revealed to be central to the events to come. The included stories depict Geralt's encounters with various characters, including the sorceress Yennefer, druids, elves, and kings, as well as battles with dangerous creatures and moral dilemmas that question the very nature of fate. Unlike The Last Wish, this collection delves deeper into themes of destiny, love, loss, and human choices, setting the stage for the main storyline of The Witcher saga.
