The second installment in the Tekken spin-off series, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, developed and published by Namco Bandai Games, was first released for arcades in 2011 and later launched on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U in 2012. Unlike the mainline Tekken games, this entry does not feature a dedicated storyline, focusing instead on fast-paced 2v2 tag-team battles. The game boasts a massive roster, including every character from previous installments, such as Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, Heihachi Mishima, and many more, alongside a few newly introduced fighters. The core gameplay revolves around the Tag Assault system, which allows players to execute extended combos with their tag partner, and the Rage system, which boosts attack power when a character’s health is low. Players can choose between classic tag-team battles or single-character fights. The game features significantly improved graphics, with smoother character animations and highly detailed arenas. The Wii U version includes exclusive costumes and a special "Mushroom Battle" mode inspired by the Super Mario series. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 received highly positive reviews for its deep gameplay mechanics, extensive character roster, and refined combat system, making it one of the best multiplayer-focused entries in the Tekken franchise.
