The Lego Ninjago Movie

A 2017 American animated adventure comedy film directed by Charlie Bean, Paul Fisher, and Bob Logan, based on the popular LEGO Ninjago toy line. The story takes place in the fictional city of Ninjago, which is constantly under attack by the evil warlord Garmadon (voiced by Justin Theroux), who seeks to conquer the land. Defending the city is a team of young ninjas: Kai (voiced by Michael Peña), Cole (voiced by Fred Armisen), Jay (voiced by Kumail Nanjiani), Zane (voiced by Zach Woods), Nya (voiced by Abbi Jacobson), and their leader, Lloyd Garmadon (voiced by Dave Franco), who also happens to be the son of the villain. The team is trained by Master Wu (voiced by Jackie Chan), who teaches them the art of Spinjitzu. Lloyd struggles with his personal conflict, as he must battle his own father, who refuses to acknowledge him as his son. When the ninjas accidentally destroy their best chance at victory, they embark on a journey to uncover the true power of a ninja, learn their inner strengths, and discover the importance of teamwork. During this adventure, Lloyd is forced to make a difficult decision—continue as a warrior or attempt to mend his relationship with his father. The film blends humor, action, and deeper themes of family, friendship, and self-discovery.
