A 1985 American spy comedy film directed in the USA by Stan Dragoti. The movie is a remake of the 1972 French film "The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe". The plot centers on Richard Drew (Tom Hanks), a modest violinist from Washington, D.C., who inadvertently becomes entangled in CIA intrigues. Agency head Ross (Charles Durning), aiming to divert attention from his own schemes, instructs his assistant Brown (Edward Herrmann) to randomly select someone at the airport to pose as a significant agent. They choose Richard, wearing one red shoe. Consequently, he becomes the target of surveillance by agents, including the ambitious Cooper (Dabney Coleman) and the alluring Maddy (Lori Singer), tasked with uncovering his knowledge. Unaware of the espionage surrounding him, Richard continues his daily life, encountering a series of absurd and perilous situations. The film also features Jim Belushi as Richard's friend, Morris, and Carrie Fisher as Paula, Maddy's associate. Blending elements of comedy, spy thriller, and satire, the film lampoons bureaucracy and the paranoia of intelligence agencies.
