The Watcher

A 2000 American thriller directed by Joe Charbanic. The story centers on former FBI agent Joel Campbell (James Spader), who, after years of unsuccessfully pursuing serial killer David Allen Griffin (Keanu Reeves), relocates from Los Angeles to Chicago in hopes of starting a new, peaceful life. However, his plans are shattered when Griffin, feeling a unique connection to Campbell, follows him to Chicago and initiates a new series of murders. The killer sends Campbell photographs of his future victims 12 hours before committing the crimes, forcing the former agent to delve back into the investigation and attempt to prevent the murders. During the investigation, Campbell seeks assistance from his therapist, Dr. Polly Beilman (Marisa Tomei), who becomes not only a source of support but also a potential target for Griffin.
