An American video game developed by Robomodo in 2010, Tony Hawk: Shred was a continuation of the failed experiment with the skateboard motion controller first introduced in Tony Hawk: Ride. Released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii, the game featured two main activities: skateboarding and snowboarding, both controlled using the same motion-sensing board. The game leaned toward an arcade style, featuring colorful graphics and simplified gameplay aimed at a younger audience. However, despite attempts to improve upon its predecessor, Tony Hawk: Shred suffered from the same issues: unresponsive sensors, limited freedom of movement, and imprecise trick execution. The game was a commercial failure and received poor reviews, marking the definitive end of the motion-controller experiment and leading to a long hiatus for the series.
