Vitas

Russian and Ukrainian pop singer, composer, and actor, born on February 19, 1979, in Daugavpils, Latvian SSR. Shortly after birth, he moved with his family to Odessa, where he began studying music, learning to play the accordion and piano. In 2000, he launched his solo career by releasing the music video for "Opera #2," which brought him widespread recognition due to his unique falsetto and eccentric image. His musical style blends elements of operatic pop, techno, dance, classical, jazz, and folk. Vitas gained popularity not only in Russia but also in Eastern Europe and Asia, particularly in China, where he was dubbed the "Prince of the Dolphin Voice." He has released over 10 studio albums, including "Philosophy of Miracle" (2001), "A Kiss as Long as Eternity" (2004), and "Mama" (2003). In addition to his music career, Vitas has acted in films, such as the Chinese adaptation of "Mulan." His stage costumes and personas are known for their theatricality and originality. Despite a decline in popularity in Russia in recent years, he continues to tour actively, especially in China, the USA, and other countries.
