Personality test

The personality test in NDim Space collects your ratings of things into your profile: the things you rated and your rating of each thing. Each of your ratings of this test’s things appears in the “Your profile is growing” panel next to the rated thing, and the ✕ button next to a rating removes that rating. Through a personal link you compare your ratings of this test’s things with a friend’s ratings: your friend rates the things of this test that you rated, and the result lines name the things where your ratings match, are one star apart, or differ by four stars or more. NDim Space uses your profile to look for people whose ratings are close to yours.

Only you see the full list of your ratings. When you compare with a friend through a personal link, the friend gets your ratings of this test’s things — the ratings that are in the “Your profile is growing” panel at the moment you create the personal link or press “Compare answers”; the “Delete the pair and the link” button under the result removes these ratings for the friend. The result lines show the friend your ratings of the things you both rated where your ratings match, are one star apart, or differ by four stars or more. People in NDim Space who have you in their Relations (their list of the people most similar to them) see the outcome of the math in their Relations: how similar you are to each of them (Similarity, Proximity, Commonality), how many things you have rated, how many things you have both rated, the diameter of your space, the diameter of your common space and the distance between you. Your space is made up of the things you have rated. Your common space is made up of the things that both you and the person who has you in their Relations have rated. The distance between you is measured in stars and shows the overall difference, across the things in your common space, between your ratings and the ratings of the person who has you in their Relations. The distance between you is zero when your ratings match on each thing in your common space. The diameter of a space is measured in stars and shows the largest possible distance between two people across the things in the space. For example, a person who gave each thing in your space the maximum rating of 10 stars and a person who gave each thing in your space the minimum rating of 0 stars are, across the things in your space, at a distance from each other equal to the diameter of your space. NDim Space calculates the diameter of a space only from the number of things in the space, so the diameter of your space and the diameter of your common space tell the person who has you in their Relations only how many things are in your space and how many things are in your common space. The distance between you equals the diameter of your common space when, on each thing in your common space, one of you gave 10 stars and the other gave 0 stars. In Relations, the distance between you also appears as a percentage of the diameter of your common space. People who have you in their Relations also see in their Relations when your NDim ID — the profile that collects every rating you give — was last updated.
