The 1980 American action comedy-drama film, directed by Buddy Van Horn, serves as a sequel to the 1978 film "Every Which Way But Loose" and follows the adventures of former street fighter Philo Beddoe (Clint Eastwood), who, after retiring, lives a peaceful life with his brother Orville (Geoffrey Lewis), mother Ma (Ruth Gordon), and orangutan Clyde. His tranquility is disrupted when the East Coast mafia proposes a fight between him and new champion Jack Wilson (William Smith), a master of mixed martial arts. Philo declines, but the mafia kidnaps his girlfriend Lynn Halsey-Taylor (Sondra Locke) to coerce him into accepting. Philo and Jack, upon discovering the mafia's schemes, team up to rescue Lynn but decide to proceed with the fight out of mutual respect. During the match, Philo breaks his arm but continues to fight and emerges victorious. Meanwhile, the biker gang "Black Widows," formerly at odds with Philo, bets on his victory and, when the mafia attempts to kill him, defends him by beating up the gangsters. The film blends humor, action, and romance, exploring themes of friendship, honor, and redemption. It received mixed reviews from critics but was a box office success, grossing over $70 million in North America.
