An American real-time strategy game with base-building elements, developed by Faceroll Games and published by Activision for mobile platforms including iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. Unlike the main Call of Duty series, Heroes put players in command of a military base, where they had to develop infrastructure, recruit troops, and engage in both single-player and multiplayer battles. The gameplay featured iconic characters from the franchise, such as Captain Price, Ghost, and Harper, each possessing unique abilities to influence combat. The battle system combined traditional strategy mechanics with real-time hero-driven action. Players could construct defensive structures, upgrade their bases, train troops, and form alliances with others. The game featured 3D graphics with an isometric perspective, and controls were optimized for touchscreen devices. Call of Duty: Heroes received mixed reviews, providing a familiar universe in a new genre but failing to compete with more dominant mobile strategy games. The game’s servers were officially shut down in 2020.
