DayZ

DayZ is a multiplayer open-world survival simulation game developed by the Czech company Bohemia Interactive. Initially, the project was introduced as a mod for the game Arma 2, created by game designer Dean Hall. Following the mod's success, the developers decided to create a standalone version of the game. The early alpha version for Windows was released in December 2013 through Steam's Early Access program. The official release on the Windows platform took place on December 13, 2018, with versions for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 released in 2019. The game is set in the fictional post-Soviet republic of Chernarus, where most of the population has turned into aggressive infected due to a mysterious epidemic. Players assume the role of survivors who must explore a vast 225 km² world, scavenging for food, water, weapons, and medicine, while avoiding or confronting the infected and other players. The game is known for its high difficulty and realism, requiring players to consider factors such as diseases, bleeding, and weather conditions. In December 2019, the first DLC titled "Livonia" was released, adding a new 163 km² map. DayZ has been acclaimed for its atmosphere and depth of gameplay, despite a prolonged development period and some technical issues at launch. By 2018, the game's sales had exceeded 4 million copies.
