Dead or Alive Xtreme 3

The third entry in the Dead or Alive Xtreme series, developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo in 2016 exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. Unlike the main Dead or Alive fighting series, Xtreme 3 focuses on leisure activities and mini-games set on a tropical island, where an all-female cast participates in various activities such as beach volleyball, jet ski racing, casino games, and photo sessions. The game features the upgraded Soft Engine 2.0, enhancing the realism of skin, fabric, and character physics. Two versions were initially released: Fortune for PS4 and Venus for PS Vita, differing in graphical capabilities. The core gameplay revolves around interacting with characters, completing tasks, earning in-game currency, and purchasing new swimsuits and accessories. A photo mode allows players to take snapshots of the characters in different poses and outfits. Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 was never officially released outside Japan and Asia, but it received an English-localized version in the Asian region, allowing international fans to play with English subtitles. Despite criticism for its heavy focus on fan service and lack of a global release, the game was well received by fans and later saw an updated release, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet, for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2019.
