A 2022 American action film and the first installment in the Detective Knight trilogy. Directed by Edward John Drake, who co-wrote the screenplay with Corey Large, the film stars Bruce Willis as Detective James Knight, Lochlyn Munro as Detective Eric "Fitz" Fitzgerald, and Jimmy Jean-Louis as Detective Godwin Sango. The plot centers on Los Angeles Police Department Detective James Knight, whose reputation is under scrutiny. During the Halloween season, the city is rocked by a series of bank robberies carried out by a group of masked criminals. In one such heist, Knight's partner, Detective Fitz, is severely wounded. The perpetrators, including former American football player Casey Rhodes (Beau Mirchoff), his best friend Mike (Cody Kearsley), the hot-headed Mercer (Michael Eklund), and the intelligent Sykes (Blake Libel), flee to New York City on a private plane. Knight and his colleague, Detective Sango, follow the trail to businessman Winna (Mircea Monroe), who is found to be connected to similar heists nationwide. The investigation is complicated by Knight's personal demons linked to his past in New York, where he previously served as a police officer and was involved in the killing of Jerry Leach, a criminal who had murdered Knight's father. As events unfold, Knight confronts corrupt ties within law enforcement and is forced to make difficult decisions to restore justice and protect his loved ones. The film combines intense chase sequences, shootouts, and drama, exploring themes of revenge, redemption, and moral choice.
