Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood​

A 1996 American comedy directed by Paris Barclay, this film parodies movies depicting African American life in urban areas. The protagonist, a young African American nicknamed Ashtray (Shawn Wayans), moves to South Central, Los Angeles, to live with his father (Larry McCoy) and grandmother (Helen Martin). His cousin, Loc Dog (Marlon Wayans), is a stereotypical gangster who loves weapons and disregards the law. Ashtray meets Dashiki (Tracey Cherelle Jones), a mother of seven children, and they begin a relationship. The film satirizes clichés and stereotypes associated with life in black neighborhoods, including themes of crime, violence, drugs, and teenage pregnancy.​
