Enter the Matrix

Shiny Entertainment built this 2003 American action-adventure video game, which Infogrames published under the Atari brand. Its plot unfolds alongside "The Matrix Reloaded," and Lana and Lilly Wachowski wrote and directed more than an hour of footage made just for the game, with the movie's own cast on screen. Players control two characters: Niobe (Jada Pinkett Smith), captain of the ship "Logos," and Ghost (Anthony Wong), her first mate and weapons specialist. The gameplay combines third-person shooting, hand-to-hand combat, and driving sequences, allowing the use of bullet time ("Focus") to perform acrobatic moves and dodge bullets. The game received mixed reviews from critics but was commercially successful, selling over 5 million copies by May 2004.
