Isle of Dogs

A 2018 American animated film in the genre of adventure comedy, created using stop-motion animation. Directed and written by Wes Anderson. The plot is set in Japan in the near future, where due to an outbreak of "dog flu," all dogs in the city of Megasaki are banished to Trash Island by decree of the corrupt Mayor Kobayashi (Kunichi Nomura). The mayor's 12-year-old ward, Atari Kobayashi (Koyu Rankin), sets off to the island in a homemade plane in search of his dog, Spots (Liev Schreiber). There, he meets a pack of dogs: the leader Chief (Bryan Cranston), as well as Rex (Edward Norton), Boss (Bill Murray), Duke (Jeff Goldblum), and King (Bob Balaban). Together, they embark on a perilous journey across the island to find Spots and uncover Mayor Kobayashi's plot to exterminate all dogs. The film combines elements of Japanese culture and aesthetics, along with Anderson's signature style, known for his symmetrical composition and unique humor.
