The third entry in the popular Mario Party series, developed by Hudson Soft and published by Nintendo exclusively for the Nintendo 64. Like its predecessors, Mario Party 3 lets players compete on various board game-style maps, rolling dice, moving across spaces, and playing mini-games to earn stars and coins. This installment introduces two new playable characters—Waluigi and Daisy—as well as a Story Mode, where a single player competes in challenges to become the owner of the mystical Millennium Star. The game features over 70 mini-games that test agility, reflexes, logic, and luck. Additionally, Duel Boards make their debut, allowing two players to compete in one-on-one battles with partner characters, adding a new layer of strategy. With improved graphics for the Nintendo 64 and expanded gameplay mechanics, Mario Party 3 is considered one of the strongest entries in the series. It received positive reviews for its mini-game variety and new features but was also criticized for the high degree of randomness in its gameplay.
