Moon Knight​

The 2022 American television miniseries, created by Jeremy Slater and directed by Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson, and Aaron Moorhead, is a six-episode series that is part of the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The narrative centers on Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac), a former mercenary with dissociative identity disorder (DID), whose alters include Steven Grant, a timid museum employee in London, and Jake Lockley, a violent taxi driver. After becoming the avatar of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu (F. Murray Abraham), Marc gains supernatural abilities and becomes the vigilante known as Moon Knight. His adversary is Arthur Harrow (Ethan Hawke), a former avatar of Khonshu who now serves the goddess Ammit and seeks to enact her plan of preemptive punishment for potential future crimes. Throughout their conflict, Marc and Steven encounter Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy), Marc's wife and an archaeologist, who later becomes the superhero Scarlet Scarab, the first Egyptian superhero in the MCU. The series delves into themes of mental illness, identity, and moral dilemmas surrounding justice and retribution. Its visual style blends psychological thriller elements, mysticism, and superhero action, with a strong emphasis on Egyptian mythology and culture. Oscar Isaac portrays all three roles with distinct accents and behaviors, highlighting the differences between the alters.
