Mr. Bean's Holiday

The 2007 British comedy directed by Steve Bendelack, written by Hamish McColl and Robin Driscoll, serves as a sequel to the 1997 film and the second feature-length installment featuring Mr. Bean. The protagonist, Mr. Bean (Rowan Atkinson), wins a trip to the south of France and a video camera. During his journey, he inadvertently separates a young boy, Stepan (Max Baldry), from his father, film director Emil Dachevsky (Karel Roden). Bean takes it upon himself to reunite them, leading to a series of comedic misadventures, including hitchhiking, participating in a film shoot by Carson Clay (Willem Dafoe), and an unexpected screening of his video diary at the Cannes Film Festival. The film pays homage to French comedian Jacques Tati and his character Monsieur Hulot, blending Bean's signature humor with picturesque French landscapes. The soundtrack features compositions by Howard Goodall, as well as songs like "La Mer" by Charles Trenet and "O Mio Babbino Caro" performed by Rita Streich. With a budget of $25 million, the film grossed over $232 million worldwide.
