A 2009 American romantic comedy directed by Donald Petrie, the film follows Georgia (Nia Vardalos), a Greek-American teacher who, after being laid off due to budget cuts, becomes a tour guide in Greece. Feeling at her lowest and losing passion for everything, she receives negative feedback from tourists who find her boring. Leading a group of mismatched tourists around Greece, Georgia faces a series of mishaps and feels like a failure. However, elderly traveler Irv (Richard Dreyfuss) helps her realize that she's not connecting with the group because of her own dissatisfaction with life. He shows her how to have fun, be more engaging, and let go of her problems. Georgia starts to learn about her tourists, shares her knowledge of Greek culture and history with them, and in the process, finds new purpose and love with bus driver Poupi (Alexis Georgoulis). The film explores themes of self-discovery, cultural exchange, and romance against the picturesque backdrop of Greece.
