Nancy Drew

A 2007 American mystery comedy film based on the series of novels about the teenage detective Nancy Drew, created by Edward Stratemeyer. Directed by Andrew Fleming, the film follows Nancy Drew (Emma Roberts) as she moves to Los Angeles with her father Carson (Tate Donovan) for his temporary business assignment. Despite promising to lead a normal teenage life, she stumbles upon a clue related to the unsolved murder of famous actress Dehlia Draycott and becomes determined to uncover the truth. At school, she struggles to fit in but befriends young Corky (Josh Flitter), who helps her with the investigation. She also catches the attention of her longtime friend Ned Nickerson (Max Thieriot), who comes to visit her. Nancy gradually discovers that Draycott had a daughter, Jane Brighton (Rachael Leigh Cook), who is the sole heir to her fortune. However, someone wants the mystery to remain unsolved and begins threatening Nancy. She finds the hidden will but is kidnapped by criminals. After escaping, her father learns about her investigation and demands answers. Nancy realizes that the true villain is lawyer Dashiel Biedermeyer (Barry Bostwick), who was Draycott’s lover and wanted to claim her wealth. Eventually, Nancy exposes him and ensures justice is served.
