Phone Booth

A 2002 psychological thriller directed by American filmmaker Joel Schumacher. The plot centers on Stu Shepard (Colin Farrell), a narcissistic and cynical New York publicist who uses the city's last remaining phone booth to call his mistress, Pamela (Katie Holmes), in order to hide their affair from his wife, Kelly (Radha Mitchell). One day, after making his usual call, the phone rings, and Stu answers, unaware that this call will change his life. On the other end is a mysterious sniper (Kiefer Sutherland) who informs Stu that he is being watched through the sniper's scope and will be killed if he attempts to leave the booth. The sniper knows all the details of Stu's life and demands that he confess his sins, including his infidelity and professional deceit. The situation escalates when a pimp, Leon (John Enos III), upset that Stu is occupying the booth, tries to force him out but becomes the sniper's victim. The police, led by Captain Ramey (Forest Whitaker), arrive at the scene, suspecting Stu of the murder. Under pressure from both the sniper and the police, Stu is compelled to confess his wrongdoings to his wife and mistress, both of whom have arrived at the scene. The film explores themes of morality, redemption, and human vulnerability, illustrating how a single phone call can drastically alter a person's life.
