An American black comedy crime film released in 1985, directed by John Huston and based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Richard Condon. The screenplay, co-written by Condon and Janet Roach, follows Charley Partanna (Jack Nicholson), a hitman for the Brooklyn-based Prizzi crime family, who falls in love with Irene Walker (Kathleen Turner), a beautiful and independent woman who also happens to be a contract killer. Their romantic involvement becomes complicated when they are each hired to assassinate the other, leading to a conflict between personal feelings and professional duties. The film also features Anjelica Huston as Maerose Prizzi, Robert Loggia, William Hickey as Don Corrado Prizzi, John Randolph, and others. "Prizzi's Honor" received critical acclaim for its witty screenplay, direction, and performances, particularly Anjelica Huston's portrayal, which earned her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The film was nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor, and won four Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actor (Jack Nicholson), and Best Actress (Kathleen Turner).
