Ragnarok Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by the South Korean company Gravity and released in 2002. The game is inspired by the Ragnarök manga by Korean artist Lee Myung-jin and offers players the opportunity to explore a vast world based on Norse mythology. At the start of the game, characters choose from several basic job classes, which can later evolve into more advanced professions, unlocking new abilities and equipment. The combat system relies on skill-based mechanics and real-time battles viewed from an isometric perspective. A key aspect of the game is player interaction, including cooperative dungeon raids, guild wars (War of Emperium), and marketplace trading. Ragnarok Online features a unique visual style, combining two-dimensional animated character sprites with a three-dimensional environment, creating a distinctive artistic presentation. Since its release, the game has become a cult classic in the MMORPG genre, receiving numerous expansions and international servers localized for different regions.
