Rango

The 2011 American animated comedy western directed by Gore Verbinski follows a pet chameleon named Rango (voiced by Johnny Depp) who accidentally ends up in the Mojave Desert after his terrarium falls from his owners' car. Yearning for adventure and dreaming of becoming a hero, Rango arrives in the town of Dirt, inhabited by anthropomorphic animals suffering from a water shortage and lawlessness. Posing as a seasoned gunslinger, Rango becomes the new sheriff and takes on the mission to restore water to the town. Along the way, he encounters various characters, including the desert iguana Beans (Isla Fisher), the turtle mayor (Ned Beatty), and the rattlesnake Jake (Bill Nighy). The film blends elements of classic westerns with satire and meta-humor, featuring a unique visual style and a musical score by Hans Zimmer.
