Shooter

A 2007 American action thriller directed by Antoine Fuqua, based on the novel "Point of Impact" by Stephen Hunter. The film follows Marine Corps sniper veteran Bob Lee Swagger (Mark Wahlberg), who, after retiring, lives in seclusion. He is recruited for a mission to prevent an assassination attempt on the U.S. president but finds himself framed for a crime he didn't commit. Trying to clear his name, Swagger teams up with FBI agent Nick Memphis (Michael Peña) and the widow of his deceased partner, Sarah Fenn (Kate Mara). Together, they uncover high-level corruption and confront mercenaries working for a private military company. The film explores themes of betrayal, justice, and fighting against the system.
