Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut​

The 2006 film is an alternative version of the original 1980 "Superman II," restored by director Richard Donner. Initially, Donner directed both Superman films, but after completing the first film, he was removed from the sequel, and Richard Lester took over. Consequently, many scenes were reshot, and some storylines were altered. In "The Richard Donner Cut," the original scenes are restored, including those featuring Marlon Brando as Jor-El, Superman's father, which were removed from Lester's version due to legal and financial disputes. The plot follows Superman (Christopher Reeve) as he confronts three criminals from his home planet Krypton: General Zod (Terence Stamp), Ursa (Sarah Douglas), and Non (Jack O'Halloran), who have escaped from the Phantom Zone and seek to conquer Earth. Simultaneously, Clark Kent decides to reveal his true identity to Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) and relinquish his superpowers for the sake of their love. However, realizing the threat posed by the Kryptonian criminals, he must find a way to regain his powers to protect humanity. The film received positive reviews from critics and fans, who noted its more serious tone and narrative coherence compared to Lester's version.​
