A 1925 silent comedy film written, directed, and starring the legendary Charlie Chaplin. The film follows the Tramp (Charlie Chaplin) as he ventures to Alaska during the Klondike Gold Rush in search of fortune. Facing extreme cold, hunger, and danger, he encounters fellow prospectors, including his future friend Big Jim (Mack Swain) and the ruthless outlaw Larsen (Tom Murray). Despite the hardships, the Tramp remains hopeful and falls in love with a dance hall girl, Georgia (Georgia Hale). The film is filled with iconic scenes, such as the "bread roll dance" and the famous hallucination of a friend turning into a giant chicken out of hunger. The Gold Rush is considered one of Chaplin’s greatest works, standing as a masterpiece of classic silent cinema. In 1942, Chaplin re-released the film with added narration and a new musical score.
