The Money Pit​

A 1986 American comedy directed in the USA by Richard Benjamin. The film is a remake of the 1948 French film "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House". The story follows a young couple, Walter Fielding (Tom Hanks), a lawyer, and his girlfriend Anna Crowley (Shelley Long), a classical musician. After Walter's father flees the country, leaving him with debts, and Anna is forced to leave the apartment owned by her ex-husband, they decide to purchase a countryside house at a suspiciously low price. However, soon after the purchase, they discover the house is in terrible condition: collapsing stairs, sinking floors, and malfunctioning utilities. The couple faces endless challenges during the renovation process, putting their relationship to the test. The film also features Alexander Godunov as conductor Max Beissart, Anna's ex-husband, Maureen Stapleton as Estelle, Joe Mantegna as Art Shirk, and Philip Bosco as Curly. Despite all the trials, Walter and Anna overcome the difficulties, complete the renovation, and strengthen their relationship.​
