An American documentary television series in the documentary genre, released in 2019 in the United States, created by Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman, and Mark Herzog in collaboration with the production company Playtone and CNN. Consisting of six episodes, each approximately two hours long, the series offers an in-depth exploration of the history of American cinema from the Golden Age of Hollywood to the present day. Each episode focuses on a specific decade, from the 1960s through the 2000s, and includes analysis of key films, directors, actors, and cultural trends that have influenced the development of the film industry.
