Venom

A 2018 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character, directed by Ruben Fleischer. Investigative journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) attempts to expose illegal experiments conducted by the Life Foundation, led by scientist Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed). During his infiltration of the laboratory, Eddie becomes infected by an alien symbiote named Venom, granting him superhuman abilities but also a thirst for violence. Eddie and Venom are forced to coexist to thwart Drake's plans to merge humanity with symbiotes and prevent an alien invasion. The film explores Eddie's internal struggle with his new identity and his efforts to maintain his humanity despite his growing bond with Venom.
