Worms: Battle Islands

A turn-based tactical strategy game developed by Team17 and released exclusively for Nintendo Wii and PlayStation Portable. Worms: Battle Islands retains the classic 2D gameplay of the series but introduces new mechanics, including a strategic island map where players can manage territories, launch attacks on enemy bases, and gain tactical advantages before battles begin. The game features over 40 weapons, including traditional bazookas and grenades, as well as special gadgets that allow players to temporarily enhance their worms or weaken opponents. The campaign includes numerous missions with varied objectives, while the multiplayer mode supports both local and online battles. The Wii version utilizes Wii Remote controls, offering a unique way to aim and interact with the environment. Additionally, the game includes an extensive customization system, enabling players to modify their worms' appearances, create unique teams, and develop custom strategies using the weapon editor. Despite its experimental elements, Worms: Battle Islands stays true to the series' roots, combining humor, destructible environments, and deep tactical gameplay.
