The 2003 American superhero film directed by Bryan Singer is a sequel to "X-Men" and is based on Marvel Comics. The story begins with an attack on the White House by the mutant Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming), heightening public fears about mutants. This leads Colonel William Stryker (Brian Cox), who possesses knowledge about Logan's (Hugh Jackman) past, to receive authorization to assault Xavier's (Patrick Stewart) school and abduct the professor. Stryker plans to use mutants to annihilate their own kind through a modified Cerebro device. The X-Men, including Storm (Halle Berry), Cyclops (James Marsden), Jean Grey (Famke Janssen), and others, are forced to ally with Magneto (Ian McKellen) and his associates to stop Stryker and rescue Professor Xavier. Along the way, Logan confronts Lady Deathstrike (Kelly Hu), a mutant with adamantium-covered claws, and uncovers more about his past. The film delves into themes of betrayal, trust, and the struggle for survival, blending dynamic action sequences with profound emotional moments.
