Zoo Tycoon DS

An economic strategy game based on the original Zoo Tycoon, adapted for the Nintendo DS handheld console. Developed by Altron in collaboration with Blue Fang Games, the game was released in 2005 and offered classic zoo management gameplay while utilizing the DS’s touchscreen capabilities. Players must construct enclosures, care for animals, manage finances, and ensure visitor satisfaction. Compared to the PC version, the graphics were significantly simplified, and the interface was redesigned for stylus-based controls. The game features over 40 animal species, each requiring specific care and habitat conditions. There are two main modes: "Freeform," which allows unrestricted zoo building, and "Campaign," which presents various scenarios with set objectives. Despite the technical limitations of the platform, Zoo Tycoon DS retained the core mechanics of the original game and became a popular choice among simulation fans looking for a portable zoo management experience.
