Ancestral Land

A historical family saga released in 2017, Fatherland Shore spans several decades of Russian history, from the pre-war period to the 1960s. The story follows the fate of the Morozov family, living in a small provincial town. Siblings Boris (Alexander Pashkov) and Anna (Maria Kulikova) dream of a great future, but World War II drastically changes their lives. Boris goes to the front, where he becomes a legendary pilot, while Anna finds herself in an occupied city, struggling to survive. After the war, fate reunites them, but the events they endured leave a profound mark on their souls. Through the lens of the characters’ personal dramas, the series portrays sweeping historical changes, from collectivization to Khrushchev's Thaw.
