The Committee

A dramatic TV series released in 2022, The Committee tells the story of three friends who dedicate their lives to serving in state security agencies. The narrative begins in the 1970s in Leningrad, where Dmitry Vasiliev (Alexander Konstantinov), the son of a KGB general, prepares for a prestigious and dangerous career in counterintelligence. His friends include Pavel Ivanov (Maxim Mityashin), a demobilized border guard, and Vladimir Naumov (Dmitry Pchela), an academy graduate who moved to Leningrad for his fiancée. Together, they navigate numerous life challenges, confronting black marketeers, dissidents, and foreign intelligence agents. The plot spans nearly forty years of their lives, illustrating how former KGB "clients" become bankers, politicians, and philanthropists against the backdrop of significant events and changes in the country.
