Atlantis

British fantasy adventure television series from 2013, created by Johnny Capps, Julian Murphy, and Howard Overman, inspired by ancient Greek mythology. The story begins in the present day, where a young man named Jason (Jack Donnelly) embarks on a submarine journey to search for his missing father and is drawn into a mysterious light that transports him to the mythical city of Atlantis. There, he encounters the rule of King Minos and his ambitious wife Pasiphae (Sarah Parish), who seeks power. Jason finds refuge with two new friends: the wise Pythagoras (Robert Emms) and former fighter Hercules (Mark Addy). Together, they embark on numerous adventures, facing mythical creatures, gods, and ancient prophecies. Among their allies are Medusa (Jemima Rooper), a palace maid, and Ariadne (Aiysha Hart), the king's daughter, with whom Jason develops a romantic relationship. The series blends elements of drama, romance, and fantasy, reimagining classic myths for a contemporary audience.
