Battlefield Heroes

An online third-person shooter with a cartoonish art style, developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts as a free-to-play title. The game was a parody-style take on classic Battlefield entries, featuring fast-paced combat with simplified mechanics, making it accessible to casual players. The gameplay revolved around two factions—the National Army and the Royal Army—each with unique character classes: Soldier, Gunner, and Commando. Players engaged in team-based battles across various maps, using vehicles such as jeeps, tanks, and planes while leveling up their characters and customizing their appearance. The game heavily relied on microtransactions, offering paid cosmetic items and progression boosts. Battlefield Heroes gained popularity due to its lighthearted tone and unique visual style but gradually lost its player base due to balance issues caused by its monetization system. In 2015, the game’s servers were shut down.
